Tyler Plantz enters his first season with the Bison as an assistant coach working with primarily the offensive line.
Plantz comes to Bethany after spending six years on the Notre Dame football staff.
Former Notre Dame monogram winner Tyler Plantz has been with the football program at his alma mater since 2015, most recently as an offensive and special teams analyst and held the position of Assistant Director of Football Operations. He has also served as football operations coordinator, interim assistant strength and conditioning coach and football staff assistant.
In his latest role, Plantz produces weekly scouting reports, film breakdown and assists in game planning while working with both the special teams coordinator and offensive coordinator working with the Tight Ends and Specialists. Over his tenure at Notre Dame, he has worked with the offensive line, defensive line, tight ends, specialists and running backs.
As interim strength and conditioning coach, Plantz directed daily calisthenics and sports performance routines, while correcting lifting form to maximize performance. He worked with Elite Form to monitor bar speed and measure power output, while also working with the Dari system to show inequities in power output and movement efficiency.
Over his two years with the program’s operations office, Plantz planned and organized summer youth camps and high school camps, and prepared team travel functions for training camp, home and away games.
During his time as football staff assistant, Plantz assisted with game film, meeting organization and daily operations. He collaborated with the program’s defensive staff to organize playbook installation and designed opponent game plans and weekly scouting reports.
Plantz graduated from Notre Dame in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He began with the Irish football program as a walk-on before earning a scholarship, while also participating in rugby and boxing. His father, Ron, and brother, Logan, both played football at Notre Dame.
