Bethany, W.Va – The Bethany College baseball team opened the 2022 season against Penn. St.-Beaver at Bethany Park Sunday afternoon.
Game One Overview
Bethany 11, PSU-Beaver 1
The Bison crossed the plate first in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead. PSU-Beaver deadlocked the game a 1-1 in the top of the second. Luke Beatty homered to left field giving the Bison a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second. The Bison exploded six runs in the bottom of the third and added two runs in the fifth to take game one 11-1.
Game Two Overview
PSU-Beaver 8, Bethany 4
PSU-Beaver took a 7-0 lead over the Bison through five innings. In the bottom of the 5th inning, Bethany scored four runs to cut the lead 7-4. Alec Berg scored after a Kevin Pollock bases loaded walk. Cameron Schuab had a bases clearing double, scoring three. The Bison were unable to overcome the Lions deficit.

The Bison will travel to Myrtle Beach for spring break next week. The Bison will face Coast Guard on Sunday March 6 for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 5:15 pm.
