Bethany College

On April 23, 2026, Bethany College established the West Virginia Theta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma (XAΣ), which recognizes student-athletes from accredited four-year institutions who compete at the varsity level, demonstrate strong academic achievement, and participate in athletics programs that promote integrity, sportsmanship, and the overall development of student-athletes. 

With the establishment of its chapter, Bethany College will recognize qualifying student-athletes who meet Chi Alpha Sigma's academic and athletic standards. To be eligible for induction, student-athletes must achieve junior or senior academic standing, complete the required semesters of coursework, and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. 

Heather Taylor and Kacey Morrison will serve as advisors for Bethany College's Theta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma. 

Chi Alpha Sigma was founded in 1996 by then DePauw University head football coach Nick Mourouzis. His goal was to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their educational and athletic successes for a lifetime.
