GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Bethany College men's lacrosse team traveled north to face the Thiel College Tomcats in a PAC contest Saturday afternoon. The Tomcats edged the Bison, 8-5.  

THE BASICS

Records: Thiel (4-9, 2-5 PAC), Bethany (5-10, 0-8 PAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Thiel scored the first two goals, taking a 2-0 lead in the first period.
• The Bison found the back of the net with 11:09 to go in the second with a Maurice Plummer goal. Thiel added two more goals to take a 4-1 lead into the half.
• The Tomcats opened the second half scoring the first two goals, however the Bison scored the next three goals to cut the lead, 6-4.
• In the fourth, Thiel extended their lead to three. Raymond Rogers found the back of the net to cut the deficit back to two. The Tomcats added an insurance goal with 4:22 to go and held the three goal lead.

BISON TOP PERFORMERS

• Clay Yingling and Raymond Rogers led the Bison with two goals each.
• Clay Yingling led the Bison with 13 groundballs.
• Brandon Heath caused a team-high four caused turnovers.
• Andrew Smith finished with 22 saves.

STATS OF THE GAME

• Thiel held the shot advantage, 59-29.
• The Bison won 9-of-15 face offs.
• The Bison scooped up 54 groundballs, compared to the Tomcats' 35.
