Game Recap: Men's Track and Field |

Mahaffey Ranked, McClinton Stuns at Home

BISON STADIUM – The Bison had the luxury of competing at their own track at the Bison Classic Invitational. The squad had an impressive showing, improving on their record setting performances and climbing the DIII rankings.

Caliyph McClinton stole the show on the track. The Bison ran a monster time of 10.49, cracking that coveted 10.5 second threshold. McClinton is currently top 10 in the country after burning on his home track. He ran a time that was top five of the weekend among all competitors at the DIII level.

McClinton currently sits 14th in the TFRRS rankings. However, outside of the top three times, McClinton has the lowest tail wind of any time recorded. The Bison is only getting faster, and he still hasn't gotten a ton of help from Mother Nature.

McClinton also lowered his 200m time. He ran a 21.47, rebreaking his own record and sticking around in the national rankings. McClinton is still 20th in the country in the 200m.

On the topic of records, it's worth looking at what Alexis Mahaffey did at West Liberty's throwing complex. On her senior day, she launched a 50 ball. Mahaffey moved into the national rankings with the 25th best mark in the country. Her official distance was 50.47 meters (over 165 feet).

Every single Bison PRed on the track yesterday. An amazing feat that shows the team is progressing to peak at the right time.

The Bison will compete at the Otterbein Twilight Invite this Friday. Both teams will travel and compete.
