The Bethany College men's lacrosse team scored eight straight first-half goals to snap the tie and cruised to the 20-14 non-conference victory over Randolph Tuesday at Bison Stadium.
Sophomore Justice Smith was the only Bison to score multiple goals in the game-changing run. Both of his goals were sophomore Ethyn Taylor, who was instrumental in the overall offensive success. He finished with six goals and three assists.
Randolph attempted to crawl back into the game with four consecutive markers, but Taylor scored three times with one assist as Bethany tallied seven of the next eight goals to lead 18-8 to end the third period.
For the second time in the contest, the Wildcats tried to make a run. Randolph opened the fourth period with five consecutive goals to cut its deficit in half.
A power-play goal by senior Tyler Britton stemmed the momentum, and Bethany secured the victory.
Sophomore Ruddy Sampson led the Bison with a career-high five assists to go along with his two goals, while Smith finished with four goals.
Bethany (7-8) travels to Allegheny 7 p.m. Wednesday for its last Presidents' Athletic Conference road game of the season.
