Bison Offense Pops in Game Two

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Bison exploded on offense, pushing 29 runs across the plate between both games. Bethany cruised to a game two win 19-0, splitting the doubleheader with Geneva.

Game one was a big offensive effort that was foiled by an eight run Golden Tornadoes first. Bethany had a late surge, but was unable to complete the full comeback. Despite the Bison putting up 10 runs, Geneva was able to add a few more runs to survive the Bison offense.

Tyler McKee drove in half of Bethany's runs himself. McKee was 2-5 with a pair of singles with five RBI.

Game two the Bison offense made their offense insurmountable.

Bethany posted 19 runs. Eleven hits is not a bad day at the plate, but the 16 walks was really what propelled the Bison forward.

Unconventional stat lines littered the lineup. Devin Toothman went 1-2 with four RBI. Toothman had three walks and scored two runs.

Every Bison did their part. Stat lines like Mike Hines are what contributed to the big offensive boom. Despite being hitless, the Bison produced four runs. This has been the way Bethany has operated all year.

A rarity for the Bison are lack of runs given up. Trey Mantle played an essential role in that performance, not allowing a run through six innings pitched. A big piece of that are the zero errors the Bison committed. Mantle earned his third win of the season.

Bethany will try to keep the momentum rolling tomorrow against Presidents Athletic Conference member Waynesburg. It will be a doubleheader played at the Yellow Jackets field. First pitch will be at 1 p.m.
