SB: Record-Breaking Season Concludes

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Bethany College softball team had their season come to an end with the 10-2 loss to Thiel Friday in game F of the Presidents' Athletic Conference tournament at College Field on the campus of Grove City College.  

Amber Dedmon brought home Bethany's lone runs with a two-out, two-run single in the fourth inning.  

Thiel took control of the game in the fourth inning as a pair of errors enabled the Tomcats to put four unearned runs on the board. Thiel took the lead thanks to three walks to open the game. Sophomore Victoria Wehrberger entered the game and only allowed one run on an infield single. She allowed seven runs (three earned) on nine hits over four innings. 

Josie Wise (17-7) started and allowed one earned run on three walks.  

Olivia Kidd finished the game 2-for-3 with a run scored. Six different Bethany players – Destiny Goodnight, Morgan Huey, Emma Jackson, Brooke Markland, Bella Jouzapaitis and Dedmon recorded a hit. 

 

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES 

  • Destiny Goodnight concludes her collegiate career with a school record 92 stolen bases. Her 35 stolen bases this season established a new single-season mark.  

  • Morgan Huey finished with a school record 55 doubles. She is second all-time with 76 stolen bases.  

  • Josie Wise wrapped up her stellar career in the circle with school records in strikeouts (642), wins (64) and starts (95).  

  • As a team, Bethany established a new single-season record with 136 stolen bases.  

  • It marked the seventh straight PAC Softball Tournament game the Bision have scored exactly two runs.  

 

Bethany concludes the 2025 season with the record of 26-13-1.
