CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Bethany College women's wrestling team concluded the 2026 National Wrestling Coaches Association National Dual Meet Championships as they finished 13th overall in the Uni-Dome.
Bethany (12-5) sought to end the National Duals on a high note as they took on McMurry (Texas) University in the opening round of the 13-16 Place bracket. With the dual automatically won thanks to nine Warhawk forfeits, the only match the Bison had to wrestle was at 110 as freshman
Clara Ealy (Forest Hill, W.Va./James Madison) took on McMurry's Kailyn Bridges.
The Green and White then took on Marymount (Va.) University in the 13th Place Match, where it was again over before it started. Freshman 103-pounder
Ava Paul (Deptford, N.J./Deptford Township) put Bethany on the board first with a 10-0 tech fall followed by a Saint forfeit at 110.
At 117, freshman
Taelor Rae Busch (Omaha, Neb./Mercy) picked up the Bison's first pin of the day while freshman 124-pounder
Natalie Rodriguez-Romero (Perris, Calif./Citrus Hill) and freshman 131-pounder
Rose Mary Dodd (Lake Elsinore, Calif./Temescal Canyon) each picked up another tech fall to give Bethany a 22-1 lead with Marymount's only point of the dual coming from a point awarded to Ingrid Penn in the 131 match.
Four more falls by
Jasmine Craddock (Chesterfield, Va./Thomas Dale) at 138,
Shanielah Kirk (Milwaukee, Wis./Martin Luther) at 160,
Trinity Barrus (Hysham, Mont.) at 180, and
MyJanniea Baptist (Los Angeles, Calif./Lawndale) at 207, and a forfeit win at 145 would make the Bison the 13th best team among all NCAA Division III schools.
The Bison are back in action on Monday, January 12 as they host the University of Mount Union (Ohio) and Hiram (Ohio) College at the Bethany Bison Duals at 6 p.m. on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Fieldhouse.
