NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Bethany College men's track and field team has been ranked No. 13 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's National Indoor Track & Field Rating Index.
Bethany checks in at 13th in the first USTFCCCA Poll of the season marking the highest ranking in program history. The Bison were unranked coming into the season and are currently ranked ninth in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Bethany lands in the Top 15 after a strong start to the 2025-26 season. The Green and White began the year at the Wittenberg Tiger Collegiate Opener where the team finished with two gold medals by junior
Caliyph McClinton (Pittsburgh, Pa./Neighborhood Academy) in the 60-meter dash, where he set a new program record, and the 200-meter dash: both placing him second in the nation. Freshman
Jason Ellman (Erie, Pa./Mercyhurst Prep) was also ranked nationally, sitting at 12th in the 60-meter dash and 13th in the 200-meter dash.
The Bison then competed against NCAA Division I and Division II teams at the YSU Collegiate Invitational, where six Bison finished in the Top 15 of their respective events.
McClinton, freshman
Juan Colon (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey), and
Ellman finished fourth, tenth, and fifteenth in the 200-meter dash, respectively.
Ellman also finished eighth in the long jump with a distance of 6.73 meters which ranks 60th in all of Division III, while junior
Mykel Davis (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park finished 12th in the high jump and senior
Koda Moore (Proctor, W.Va./John Marshall) finished ninth in the weight throw.
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, January 31 as select members will travel to Youngstown, Ohio to compete at the 14th Annual YSU Collegiate Mid-Major Invitational hosted by Youngstown (Ohio) State University at the Watson and Tressel Training Site, while other members of the team will travel to Springfield, Ohio to compete in the Steemer Showcase hosted by Wittenberg (Ohio) University at 11 a.m. in the Steemer Center.
