NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Bethany College junior men's track and field athlete
Caliyph McClinton (Pittsburgh, Pa./Neighborhood Academy) has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the sixth time in his career.
McClinton earns his sixth career weekly accolade and his first this season after leading the Bison at the Wittenberg Collegiate Opener to open the 2025-26 indoor season. He opened the meet by running a 6.78 in the 60-meter dash prelims before breaking a program record in the finals with a time of 6.73 which ranks second in the nation.
McClinton then broke another Bethany record with a 21.42-second 200-meter dash to also place him second nationally in that event.
Last season,
McClinton finished second in the 60-meter dash at the 2024-25 PAC Indoor Championships, placed third in the 200-meter dash, and led the Bison 4x400-meter relay to a second place finish. He then took home the gold in the 200-meter dash at the 2025 PAC Outdoor Championships on his way to an appearance at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Outdoor Championships.
McClinton earned his previous five weekly honors on February 18, April 2, and April 15 of 2025, and March 27 and April 23 of 2024.
The Bison are back in action on Friday, January 16 as they travel to Youngstown, Ohio to compete at the YSU Collegiate Invitational hosted by Youngstown (Ohio) State University at 12 p.m. at the Watson and Tressel Training Site.
