YORK, Pa. - The Bethany College women's wrestling team competed at the York Tri-Match hosted by York (Pa.) College where they defeated Muhlenberg (Pa.) College and fell to the host York in Wolf Gymnasium.
Bethany (10-3) was back in action for the first time in 2026 where they dominated Muhlenberg (2-3) by a score of 39-9 to open the tri-match. Four wins by forfeit gave the Bison an early 21-3 lead before sophomore
Jasmine Craddock (Chesterfield, Va./Thomas Dale) wrestled in the Green and White's first victory of the day with an 8-6 decision at 138.
Freshman 145-pounder
Peyton Gauss (Pemberton, N.J.) and sophomore 160-pounderÂ
Shanielah Kirk (Milwaukee, Wis./Martin Luther) each followed
Craddock with a one-minute pin in their respective matches to give the Bison a 30-point advantage over the Mules and to secure the dual victory.Â
Against the host York (4-1), the Bison faced off in all but one weight class including two exhibition matches. Freshman 103-pounder
Ava Paul (Deptford, N.J./Deptford Township) got Bethany started on the right foot with a pin in the second minute. Then, freshman
Ashley Campbell (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) won by fall in the 110 match for her first win of the day to put the Bison up 10-0.
After the Spartans took the next two matches, freshman 131-pounderÂ
Rose Mary Dodd (Lake Elsinore, Calif./Temescal Canyon) dominated York's Barbara Hartman in a 13-5 decision for the Green and White's final victory of the dual.
However,
