Men's Lacrosse Clashes with Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Bethany College men's lacrosse team fell to Westminster (Pa.) College by a final score of 26-0 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at the UPMC Sports Complex.

Bethany (1-8, 0-2 PAC) Leaders
  • Freshman attack Braden Jones (Essex, Md./Kenwood) led the team with two ground balls and won one face-off
  • Freshman face-off specialist Darwin Ruiz (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) won a career-high five face-offs and recorded one ground ball
  • Sophomore Academic All-PAC midfielder Chance Funari (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) led the Bison with five shots and two on goal along with a caused turnover and a ground ball defensively
  • Freshman midfielder Romeo Grullon (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) forced two turnovers and added one ground ball
  • Senior attack Justice Smith (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) took three shots and finished with one caused turnover and one ground ball
  • Junior defender Sammy Newlon-Brown (Preston, W.Va.) also recorded one ground ball and forced one turnover
  • Sophomore midfielder Corrie Miller (Etters, Pa./Red Lands) also took two shots with one on goal
  • Freshman defender Levi Connally (Prince George's County, Md./Frederick Douglass) and freshman midfielder Kenny Davis (Bartlett, Tenn.) each added a ground ball
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Owen Livengood (York, Pa./York Suburban) made 11 saves against the Titans
Westminster (6-5, 1-2 PAC) Leaders
  • Sophomore face-off specialist Jack Steimie won 15 of his 18 face-offs and tallied seven ground balls
  • Freshman midfielder Brendan Robinson scored three goals with three assists for six points
  • Senior goalkeeper Zach Meszaros saved two Bethany shots
The Bison are back in action on Wednesday, April 1 as they host a Presidents' Athletic Conference game against Saint Vincent (Pa.) College at 4 p.m. on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
