Men's Lacrosse Falls to Grove City in Doubleheader Nightcap

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College men's lacrosse team fell to Grove City (Pa.) College by a final score of 28-1 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.

Bethany (1-13, 0-7 PAC) Leaders
  • Freshman attack Braden Jones (Essex, Md./Kenwood) scored the only Bison goal of the day with an extra-man opportunity
  • Junior All-PAC defender Matthew Rees (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) tied a game-high four ground balls with a team-high two caused turnovers
  • Sophomore midfielder Chance Funari (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) tallied an assist along with a ground ball and a caused turnover
  • Junior midfielder Abdul Lowe (Manassas, Va./Osbourn) added six face-off victories with one ground ball
  • Sophomore midfielder Logan Mills (Barrie North, Ontario/Eastview Secondary School) and sophomore midfielder Corrie Miller (Etters, Pa./Red Lands) each contributed two ground balls
  • Freshman midfielder Darwin Ruiz (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) won seven face-offs with four ground balls
  • Freshman defender Dakota George (Marietta, S.C./Travelers Rest) also forced one Wolverine turnover
  • Senior Justice Smith (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) made 15 saves in his first career start in the crease
  • Freshman James Bialo (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg) made his Green and White debut
Grove City (8-7, 7-0 PAC) Leaders
  • Freshman midfielder Mason Lyons led Grove City in points with three goals and three assists
  • Freshman midfielder Alex Gladstone tallied a game-high seven ground balls
  • Freshman goalkeeper Dylan Crownover made eight saves against Bethany
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, April 18 as they host a Presidents' Athletic Conference game against Allegheny (Pa.) College at 1 p.m. on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
