BOARDMAN, Ohio - The Bethany College men's golf team competed in the third round of the 2025-26 Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships at Mill Creek Golf Course.
The Bison opened the Spring Championships with their best round of the four-round tournament so far by shooting a 322 (+42) which was sixth out of 10 teams in the third round and enter the final day of the Championships in eighth place with a three-round score of 980 (+124). The defending PAC Champion Allegheny (Pa.) College currently sits in first place with a score of 909 (+53).
All-PAC junior
Jude Smith (Weirton, W.Va./Weir) matched his first round score of 75 (+5) to keep him in the race for a top five finish as he currently sits at seventh heading into the final round with a score of 227 (+13).
Smith notched eight pars and three birdies firing just one stroke over on the front nine.
Junior
Payton Hildebrand (Wellsburg, W.Va./Wheeling Central Catholic) fired back-to-back rounds of 79 (+9) to rank 26th overall with a three-round score of 246 (+32). In the Spring Championships opener, he notched three birdies and seven pars to finish second on the Bison.
Freshman
Jacob Bursey (Winchester, Va./James Wood) had his best round of the Championships by shooting an 82 (+12). He notched eight pars and brings his tournament total to 253 (+39).
Sophomore
Nash Hays (Heath, Ohio) filled in for his first round of the 2025-26 PAC Championships by carding an 86 (+16) with seven pars to close out the team score in the third round
Junior
Samuel Phillips (Charleston, W.Va./Herbert Hoover) shot a 90 in Round 3 with five pars to bring his Championships score to 274 (+60).
The 2025-26 Presidents' Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championships conclude tomorrow in the Fourth Round beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Mill Creek Golf Course.
