GREENWOOD, Ind. - Bethany College swimming and diving student-athlete sophomore JulieAnne Humpe (Yorkville, Ohio/Wheeling Central Catholic) has been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. 

In order to qualify for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a sophomore academically and athletically, must carry a 3.50 or higher grade point average, and must have competed in 75 percent of the institution's competitions.

Humpe earns the swimming and diving program's first Academic All-District selection after competing in all nine of the Bison's meets this year before capping off her big year at the 2025-26 PAC Championships. While at the conference championships, she placed 10th in the 200-yard backstroke with a personal-best time of 2:20.13 and also placed 10th in the 100-yard backstroke finals by timing a 1:04.68 to lead the Bison with 18 team points. Humpe just narrowly missed setting the program record in both the 200 back and the 200-yard individual medley, but set another career-best in the 200-yard breaststroke at the CalU Winter Frenzy on Jan. 17 with a time of 3:07.02. Earlier in the season, she won the 100-meter backstroke at the Hiram Tri-Meet with a time of 1:16.16 and added three other top-three finishes throughout the season. Humpe was also named to the 2025-26 PAC Women's Swimming and Diving Sportsmanship Team. 

In her career, Humpe has appeared in 15 different meets for the Bison and has eight top-three finishes including winning two events. As a freshman, she placed seventh at the 2024-25 PAC Championships in the 100 back with a time of 1:03.77 while also swimming a 2:20.24 in the 200 back to place ninth overall. Academically, Humpe has earned a 3.68 grade point average.

Humpe now advances to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, which will be announced on April 28.
