Jordan Johnson

Jordan Johnson enters his first full season as the Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at Bethany CollegeĀ in 2025.

Johnson comes to Bethany from another Division III institution, Shenandoah University, where he was the assistant coach to the indoor and outdoor track and field teams and the cross-country programs. For three seasons with the track and field team, Johnson’s primary focuses were sprints, hurdles, jumps, and relays. He coached athletes who broke 13 school records, eight NCAA National Championship qualifiers, and an All-American in the 200 meter.

Johnson started his coaching career at Division II Lenoir Rhyne University during the 2022 seasons, coaching indoor and outdoor track. He had an immediate impact coaching the women to a conference championship. During the same season, he also coached the men’s 4Ɨ100 to an All-American finish, eight national qualifiers, and seven school records.

Johnson’s success in coaching stems from his illustrious athletic career. The sprinter was crowned as a Division III national champion in 2018 for the Benedictine University Eagles in the indoor 200 meter. Johnson then went on to reach the NCAA podium twice in the outdoor season, taking the runner up spot in both the 200 meter and the 100 meter. He won a NACC conference title in each of those events and added on another title in the 4Ɨ100 meter relay. Johnson is currently the fastest man in NACC history, as he owns both records for the short sprints.

Before expelling his eligibility, Johnson collected nine total championships in sprints and relays, three conference records (100 meter, 200 meter, 60 meter), and was named 2018 NCAA Midwest Regional Indoor Track Athlete of the Year.
