Head Coach Courtney Kline is entering her tenth season at the helm of the Bethany College volleyball program.

Kline has brought volleyball at Bethany to new heights as she has coached the Green & White to seven-straight PAC Championship Tournament berths, six-consecutive Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship Tournament appearances, and four ECAC Championship crowns.

Kline became the winningest coach in Bethany school history in 2014, capturing her 146th match in a victory over Saint Mary's College on August 28th at the University of Mount Union Classic. Her current record at Bethany stands at 202-122 (.623) and 94-54 (.635) in conference play.

Having notched a seventh-straight winning season in 2015, Kline led the Bison back to the PAC Championship Tournament finals for the second time in three seasons. It also marked the fourth time in the last five that she had led Bethany to a 30+-win season (30-10).

Following the 2015 campaign, six different Bison were named to the All-Presidents Athletic Conference teams, including Freshman of the Year selection, libero Reilly Parker. Parker and junior Dylana McKenzie were also named First-Team selections, while senior Mackenzie Lauber, and juniors Arielle Sanders and Dakota McKenzie were given second-team laurels. Senior Julia Mouch was given the nod as an Honorable Mention All-PAC pick, marking the fourth straight year in which she had received all-conference recognition.

Between the years of 2010-2013, the Bison rattled off four-consecutive ECAC Championships, as well as three-straight 30+ win seasons in 2011, 2012 and 2013. During the 2013 campaign, the Bison accomplished something that no other team in the PAC had before; a 17-1 regular season conference record. The team then made it to the PAC Championship Tournament finals before falling to Thomas More (3-2).

Bethany hosted the ECAC Championships for the second-straight year in 2013, earning 3-0 sweeps of McDaniel and Merymount to earn their fourth-straight title.

Prior to 2013, Kline helped the Bison post back-to-back 31-win seasons. Bethany posted its best record (31-6) in school history in 2011, following that with a 31-8 mark in 2012. In both seasons, the Bison finished their run with an ECAC championship, defeating Saint Vincent (3-1) in 2011 and Moravian (3-0) in 2012.

Through her first nine seasons, Kline has coached four Academic All-American selections, 10 Academic All-District honorees and 34 All-PAC selections. The All-PAC honors include 12 first-teamers, 11 second-team honorees and 11 honorable mention selections. She has also coached three "PAC Freshman of the Year" selections (Jessica Zavatchen - 2009; Dylana McKenzie - 2013; Reilly Parker - 2015). Kline has also had 60 athletes earned Academic All-PAC honors.

Kline, who is CAP Level II certified, came to Bethany after a highly successful two-year stint as the head coach at Penn State-Fayette in Uniontown, Pa. In those two seasons, the Lions captured back-to-back PSUAC championships, the first in the school’s history, and Kline was named the Coach of the Year following both seasons.

In 2006, PSU-Fayette completed the regular season with a 24-7 overall record, including an 18-1 mark in conference play, before claiming victories over Mont Alto and two over Penn College to repeat as PSUAC champions. In addition to the conference title, the Lions earned the #1 ranking in the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association) polls in their initial season with the new conference.

Due to her success at Penn State Fayette, Kline was also named the 2007 College Women’s Coach of the Year by the Tri-County (Fayette, Greene, Washington) Athletic Directors Association.

A four-year member of the volleyball team at Cedarville (Ohio) University, Kline helped her team to the NAIA American Mideast Conference tournament all four years and was a 2002 NSCAA All-Midwest Region team selection. She still currently ranks in the top 10 at the school in service aces, games played and digs.

Kline, who graduated from Cedarville in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education (sports management concentration) and later earned a Master of Science degree in Sport Management from California (Pa.) University in 2006, also teaches in Bethany's Physical Education-Sports Studies program.
