Sept. 5 – BALTIMORE, Md. – The Bethany College men's soccer team fell to SUNY Brockport 3-0 on Saturday night.
SUNY Brockport (2-1) struck early as Collin Goettel scored a goal in the 8th minute.
The Bethany (0-3) defense remained tough but the Bison found themselves down 2-0 at the half.
The Bison continued to attack offensively and had five shots in the second half. The only blunder on defense came in the 83rd minute when Brockport made it a 3-0 game.
Freshman Frederik Thomsen (Skive, Denmark/Skive) had a strong performance with two shots.
Bethany goalie Richard Martinez (Miami, Fla./Southdade Senior) recorded five saves as he faced 18 Golden Eagle shot attempts.
The Bison will return to the pitch on Wednesday, September 9 to open their home portion of the 2015 campaign. Bethany will face off against Mount Aloysius at Bison Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
