GETTYSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 22) – The Bethany College volleyball team earned a pair of 3-0 wins over King's College and York College to open play at the York Invitational Friday night.

BETHANY vs. KING'S MATCH NOTES
- The Bison cruised to a 25-15 win in the first set behind a .355 hitting percentage and 14 kills.
- King's pushed Bethany in the second set, but the Bison prevailed with a 29-27 win.
- Despite a .125 hitting percentage in the final set, Bethany closed out the match with a 25-17 victory.
- Sophomore Katie Sparks (Macedonia, Ohio/Trinity) was the top offensive player with 17 kills in the win.
- Freshman setter Jenna Scott (New Castle, Ind./Liberty Christian) helped the offense with 35 assists and added five digs.
- Junior Reilly Parker (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin) led three players with double-digit digs with 19 for the match.
BETHANY vs. YORK MATCH NOTES
- The Green & White battled to a 3-0 win over York to close the evening. Two of the three sets needed extra points to settle the scores.
- Sparks was the team's top player again, posting a kill-dig double-double with a team-high 10 kills to go with 11 digs.
- Scott posted 28 assists and added several digs to her final line, while Parker's 19 digs paced the defensive effort.
