Bethany, W.Va – The Bethany College football team hosted the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets in a PAC contest Friday evening under the lights at Bison Stadium. Bethany College celebrated seniors Mohamed Elola and Braylon Sibley for their contributions and hard work as Bison scholar-athletes.
Game Overview
The Bethany offense was in a rhythm Friday evening. The Bison cruised to a 40-7 victory over the Yellow Jackets. The Green and White went 55 yards on 10 plays for the first touchdown of the game. Chris Williams hauled in a 5-yard pass from Dom Salinetro. The Bison went up 14-0 with two second left on the clock in the first quarter. Salinetro connected with sophomore De'Vaughn McWorter for a 25-yard touchdown reception.
Waynesburg battled to get on the board in the second quarter. Bethany tacked on a third touchdown with 10:07 to go in the first half. Salinetro connected with Williams for a 36-yard touchdown pass.
Freshman Brennan Secrist roped in a 17-yard pass from Salinetro to give the Bison a 27-7 lead at the half.
The Bison continued to cruise in the second half. Amos Porter ran through for a 2-yard touchdown and Maurice Jackson striped the ball from one of the Yellow Jackets and ran it back 40-yards for the score.
Junior quarterback Dom Salinetro had 364 passing yards on 21-of-37 attempts. He threw for four touchdowns and gave up one interception.
Wide receiver Chris Williams led the Bison with two touchdown receptions. Brennan Secrist led the receivers with 186 yards which included a 70 yard touchdown reception from Salinetro.
Defensively, the Bison held the Yellow Jackets to just one score and 211 total-yards. Jermain Snodgrass led the Bison with nine tackles (six solo) and a sack.
