Franklin, Ind. – The Bethany Volleyball team finished the weekend playing two matches at the Franklin College Invitational Saturday afternoon. Bethany faced Anderson and host Franklin. The Bison closed the weekend with a split, falling 3-1 to Anderson and defeating Franklin in five (3-2).

THE HIGHLIGHTS (MATCH ONE – ANDERSON)

• Bethany and Anderson went back and forth in the first two sets with the Bison taking set two, 25-18
• Anderson defeated the Bison 25-22 and 25-18 in the final two sets

BY THE NUMBERS (MATCH ONE – ANDERSON)

• Senior Jess Moore and sophomore Olivia Koehler led the Bison with 10 kills each
• Koehler also had 13 digs and three blocks
• Senior Paige Allen and freshman Asia Crim both totaled 13 digs apiece
• Junior Alaina Torres led the Bison with 35 assists
• Sophomore Emma Marthins totaled six blocks while adding nine kills
• The Bison registered 13 aces

THE HIGHLIGHTS (MATCH TWO – FRANKLIN)

• The Bison won a five set thriller (3-2)
• Bethany took sets one (27-25), three (25-19) and five (15-11)

BY THE NUMBERS (MATCH TWO - FRANKLIN)

• Senior Jess Moore had 21 kills
• Sophomore Emma Marthins tallied 12 kills and three blocks
• Senior Brooke Corley had 32 digs and six assists
• Alaina Torres totaled 53 assists and 17 digs

Bethany returns to the court Thursday, September 30 when they travel to Greenville, Pa for a PAC matchup against the Thiel Tomcats at 7 pm.
