Women's Soccer: Bethany Opens Purple and Gold Classic with Victory over Rochester

Defiance, Ohio – Bethany College women's soccer opened up the Purple and Gold Classic with a 2-0 win over Rochester (Mich.) Saturday afternoon.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Freshman Mary Marshall scored the Bison's first goal at the 16:50 mark off a pass from freshman Jayda Larsen.
  • Kiara Marchincin registered the Bison's second goal at the 26:36 mark.
  • Bethany held Rochester scoreless through the first half. Rochester scored in the 87th minute breaking the shutout.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • 2 – The Bison are 2-0 for the first time since the 2010 season
  • 8 – Bethany took eight shots (three on goal)
