BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bethany College men's soccer team hosted Mount Aloysius on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium to open the 2022 season. The Bison held on to defeat the Mounties, 2-1.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- Bethany jumped out to a 1-0 lead. Fausto Gionchetti found Santiago Bruni on a Bison corner kick at the 3:17 mark in the first half.
- The Bison found the back of the net again, after a Lucas Puebla goal.
- The Green and White led 2-0 at the half and held the Mounties scoreless until the 40:09 mark of the second half.
- The Bison had multiple defensive stops to hold off the Mounties and secure their first win of the season.
MATCH NOTES
- Bethany took 10 shots while Mount Aloysius took eight.
- Both teams registered three saves and four corner kicks.
