BETHANY, W.Va – The Bethany College women's basketball team fell to Allegheny College, 67-60 inside Hummel Field House Wednesday evening.
GAME FLOW/HIGHLIGHTS
- Allegheny jumped out to an 8-0 run over the opening three minutes of the game. The Bison's Kate Botti put the Green and White on the board after hitting a jumper. Botti later cut the lead to two, knocking down her free throws. The Gators went on an 11-6 run to close out the first stanza, holding a 21-14 lead.
- In the second, the Bison chipped away at the Gators' lead. Bella Skobel hit a jumper to bring the Bison within one, 25-24 with 4:44 to go in the half. The Gators maintained the slim lead and would head into the halftime break leading 31-28.
- The Bison and Gators exchanged baskets in the opening minutes of the second half. A Sophie Morey three would put the Bison ahead, 36-35 with under six to go in the third. The lead was short lived as the Gators regained the momentum and held the narrow lead. Down five with just over a minute to go in the third, Lindsey Garrison drained a three to bring the Bison within two. The Gators held a 45-43 lead heading into the final quarter of play.
- Josie Stone would knot the game at 45-45 after knocking down both free throws. Allegheny continued to answer the Bison's attempt to take a lead. The Gators used a 14-4 run to extend their lead to double-digits with 5:29 left in the game. The Bison battled and were within three with 33 seconds left in the game after an old fashion three-point play by Bella Skobel. The Gators capitalized on knocking down foul shots to seal the victory.

- Allegheny shot 43.3 percent (26-60) from the field while holding Bethany to 38.6 percent (22-57) from the field.
- The Bison edged the Gators on the boards, 32-31.
- Bethany had 17 turnovers, including six in the first quarter and a total of 10 in the first half. The Gators scored 14 points off of the Bison turnovers.
