LATROBE, Pa. – The Bethany College men's volleyball team closed out the Presidents' Athletic Conference preview weekend against Geneva College and Thiel College in Latrobe, Pa., Saturday afternoon. The Bison fell to 0-4 to open the season.
THE MATCHUP
- Geneva 3, Bethany 0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-16)
- Thiel 3, Bethany 0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-9)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the match against Geneva, Bethany played one of their better sets of the weekend. It was a back-and-forth battle for most of the first set. The Bison led 16-14 but the Golden Tornadoes would battle and knot the set at 17-17. After trailing 19-18, the Bison would let the Golden Tornadoes score the final six points to take the first set, 25-18. The Golden Tornadoes kept momentum, defeating the Bison in three sets.
- Against Thiel, the Tomcats would hold momentum in the first set. The Bison battled through the second set, but never could get a lead. The Tomcats would manage to pull away and then take the final two sets.
