LATROBE, Pennsylvania- The Bethany Bison hopped in the vans for another Presidents Athletic Conference matchup. Bethany's opponent, the Saint Vincent Bearcats, entered the game on an offensive heater. They won their last three games with a combined score of 16-2, including a seven goal game against Thiel.
Saint Vincent was slowed down by the Bethany defense. Still, the Bison couldn't overcome the two goals the Bearcats scored in a 2-0 loss.
The Bison were able to hold the Bearcats' quality shots to a minimum. The defense prevented any passing patterns from turning into high percentage scoring opportunities in the first half.
The one goal that Saint Vincent was able to score came from a free kick. The kick was essentially a corner-style crosser that was chipped into the net. The half ended 1-0 in the Bearcats favor.
Saint Vincent scored again in the second half, catching the Bison without a goalie in the box.
Bethany was able to put a few shots on goal late in the game, but no goals would come of it. They fall in a scoreless effort against the Bearcats.
Bethany (4-4-2) will look to jump back over .500 this Saturday when they travel to Chatham. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
