The Bethany College women's basketball team opened the season with a 78-47 loss to Marietta Saturday on Joe Kurey Memorial Court inside Hummel Field House in non-conference action.
Marietta ended the first quarter on an 18-2 run to take a big lead. Bethany's offensive struggles continued in the second quarter as the Bison managed eight points.
Junior Kaedlee Potter, in her Bethany debut, pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
Bethany (0-1) opens Presidents' Athletic Conference action 5:30 p.m Wednesday, hosting Thiel inside Hummel Field House.
