Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Dailey Joins 1,000 Point Club

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - Junior Cole Dailey joined the 1,000-point club with a late three-pointer, but the Bethany College men's basketball team fell to Geneva Tuesday, 90-86, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action inside Metheny Fieldhouse.

Dailey, who is already the program's all-time leader in blocks and has recorded his 500th career rebound, went over 1,000 points with three seconds remaining – trimming the BC deficit to two points. However, Geneva hit a pair of free throws to push the lead to the four-point final deficit.

The Golden Tornadoes were able to secure the victory by going 8-of-9 from the free-throw line down the stretch.

Bethany got off to a slow offensive start and trailed by as much as 22 in the first half. The Bison never led but had the ball with 13.4 seconds remaining and only down four. However, a turnover on the inbounds pass pretty much nullified the chance.

Juniors Troy Hixson and Ryan Reasbeck combined for 46 points to lead the Bison, while Dailey finished with 17 points – 15 in the second half – eight rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks. Sophomore Will Brooks pulled down eight rebounds, six on the offensive end.

INSIDE THE BOX & NOTES

  • For the first time in five games, Hixson reached double figures.
  • Both teams have now won eight games each in Beaver Falls. Bethany still leads the all-time series, 19-16.
  • Bethany has now lost 11 straight to Geneva.
  • Geneva held the 22-7 advantage in second-chance points.

Bethany (5-5 overall, 0-5 PAC) will have an extended break before returning to action 2 p.m. January 4, traveling to Chatham.
