NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Blistering starts at the start of quarters, which enabled the Bethany College women's basketball team to secure 63-60 victory over Kean in their second game of the Music City Classic.
In the first two minutes of each quarter, the Bison held the 25-4 advantage in those eight total minutes. The quick starts enabled Bethany to overcome the shortcomings on the defensive glass as the Cougars finished the game with 28 second-chance points on 30 offensive rebounds.
Holding a 12-point lead with 4:51 remaining in the game, Bethany had to stave off three straight three-point attempts to record the victory as the Bison didn't score for the rest of the game. They had a couple of chances in the final 15 seconds to seal the win but missed all four free throw attempts.
Senior Lindsey Garrison finished with a team-high 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting with three rebounds and two assists. Junior Kaedlee Potter, a game after her double-figure streak was snapped at eight games, responded with her second career double-double. Potter finished with 14 points, a career-high tying 12 rebounds, and a career-high four blocks.
