BEXLEY, Ohio – The Bethany College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches in straight sets Saturday in the Pam Briggs Classic. Bethany opened the day falling to co-host Capital and then lost to Hanover. The Bison finished the two-day event with one win in four matches.
GAME ONE: CAPITAL 3, BETHANY 0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-21)
Junior Ariana Gilliam and freshman Ashton Thomas combined for half of the team's kills with five each in the straight-set loss. Gilliam finished with five kills on 23 attempts and five errors, while Thomas recorded five kills on nine attempts and two errors.
GAME TWO: HANOVER 3, BETHANY 0 (25-11, 25-6, 25-23)
For the second consecutive match, Gilliam led the team in kills with four on 22 attempts with two errors. Thomas and Braymer added three kills each for the Bison.
Gallagher finished with 12 assists and eight digs, while Taylor recorded seven digs.
Bethany (3-5) returns to action 7 p.m. Tuesday, traveling to Pitt.-Bradford for a non-conference match.
