Potter Scores Career-High as WBB Snaps Skid

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Junior forward Kaedlee Potter scored a career-high 22 points as the Bethany College women's basketball team shook off a slow start in snapping a three-game losing streak with the 73-48 win over Westminster Wednesday in Presidents' Athletic Conference action inside Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.

Bethany held the Titans scoreless over seven minutes in the third quarter as they went on a 17-0 run immediately on the heels of Westminster taking the lead to seize control of the contest. Potter scored eight of her 22 points during the run as Bethany shot 6-of-11 from the field. The Bison forced four turnovers and held Westminster to 0-of-6 from the floor in the game-changing run.

Westminster opened the game hitting 3-of-4 from beyond the arc to take the early lead. The sharpshooting quickly fizzled as the Titans shot just 5-of-19 (26.3 percent) for the rest of the game. WC led by six early, but didn't score for the final three minutes of the quarter, allowing Bethany to trim the deficit to two.

The run, which extended to 15-2 over the two quarters, gave Bethany some breathing room. BC took a six-point lead into the half.

Potter shot 8-of-13 from the floor and 6-of-8 from the foul line in reaching the career-best scoring total. She added eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the win. Graduate Bella Skobel reached double figures for the fifth time this season with 14 points, tying a career-high three made three-pointers, and four assists.

Sophomore Kate Botti recorded her second double-double of the season, and the fourth of her career, with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
