BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College men's soccer team won over Geneva (Pa.) College by a final score of 3-1 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game held at Hoag Field of Bethany College.
Bethany (3-6-3, 2-3-1 PAC) Leaders
- Junior midfielder Ricardo Diaz (Sacramento, Calif./Del Campo)scored two goals during the game: the first one in the first half and the second one during the second half (65:29), ultimately making the final goal of the game making the score 3-1
- Sophomore defender Samuel Bedoya (Cape Coral, Fla./Mariner) scored a goal in at 8:26 into the game making the score (1-1)
Geneva (3-8-1, 2-3-1 PAC) Leaders
- Freshman forward Msafiri Amisi makes the very first goal of the game 3:47 into the game making the score (1-0)
- Sophomore midfielder Adam Thompson took a total of three shots, two attempted on goal
First Half (Bethany 2-1)
- 3:47 - Amisi's shot puts Geneva into the lead
- 8:26 - Bedoya's shot assisted by senior forward Defrante Braithwaite (St. Paul, Antigua/Princess Margaret School), tied Geneva and Bethany
- Diaz's high right shot scores putting Bethany in the lead
Second Half (Bethany 3-1)
- 47:10 - Amisi attempts a shot only to be blocked
- 65:29 - Diaz scores another goal putting Bethany further ahead
The Bethany College men's soccer team's next gameday will be Tuesday, October 14 at Hoag Field, Bethany College, as they host Hiram (Ohio) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game starting at 4 p.m.
