WHEELING, W.Va. - The Bethany College swimming and diving team competed against Wheeling (W.Va.) University and Chatham (Pa.) University in the Wheeling Tri-Meet in the Alma Grace McDonough Center.

Bethany (0-4, 0-2 PAC) was back in action just down the road at Wheeling (Men's 6-0, Women's 5-1) after taking on the Cardinals at last week's W&J Tri-Meet, and fell to the host 168-4 in the men's events and 137-7 in the women's events. The Bison also took on Presidents' Athletic Conference foe Chatham (1-2, 1-1 PAC) on Saturday afternoon where the Green and White fell 108-8 and 131-13 in the men's and women's events, respectively. Wheeling completed the Tri-Meet sweep by defeating Chatham in both the men's and women's events.

The Bison only fielded two swimmers but sophomore JulieAnne Humpe (Yorkville, Ohio/Wheeling Central Catholic) led the women's team by finishing third in both the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:24.75 and in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.00. Humpe also swam in the 200-yard individual medley, but her time of 2:47.18 did not count towards the team score. 

On the men's side, freshman Corbin Henry (Martinsburg, W.Va.) competed in both the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle. Henry finished with a time of 1:02.05 in the 100 and a time of 2:26.02 in the 200 while also competing in an exhibition swim in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.93.

The Bison are back in action on Saturday, November 1 as they travel to Steubenville, Ohio for a Presidents' Athletic Conference meet with the Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio) at 1 p.m. in Big Red Natatorium.
