Men's Basketball Falls to Puget Sound to Close West Coast Roadtrip

TACOMA, Wash. - The Bethany College men's basketball team fell to the University of Puget Sound (Wash.) by a final score of 94-78 in a non-conference inside Memorial Fieldhouse.

Bethany (0-4) Leaders
  • Graduate Academic All-PAC guard Troy Hixson (Grove City, Ohio/Bishop Ready) scored a season-high 18 points needing just 125 more points to reach 1,000 in his career
  • Senior guard Co Rose (Odessa, Texas) scored a game-high 22 points for his most as a Bison and added four assists
  • Sophomore forward Jayden Jackson (Columbia, S.C./A.C. Flora) and senior guard Ryan Reasbeck (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic) each recorded four rebounds and scored 14 points and 11 points, respectively
  • Sophomore guard Bryson Bishop (Dayton, Ohio/Stebbins) added eight points
  • Freshman guard Semaj Marshall (Washington, D.C./Parkside) and Reasbeck each had two steals
Puget Sound (1-1) Leaders
  • Junior guard Zane Miller led the team with 18 points and four rebounds
  • Sophomore guard Beckett Turner had a game-high six rebounds
  • Junior forward Hugo Rutherford posted 15 points and five blocks
First Half (Puget Sound 47-34)
  • Rose scored 14 of his 22 points with two rebounds
  • The Loggers went on a 17-6 run midway through the half, but the Bison stayed with Puget Sound into halftime thanks to 17 points down the stretch
  • Sophomore forward JB Mongeois (Royal Palm Beach, Fla./Palm Beach Central) recorded the Green and White's only block of the day on a Loggers layup
Second Half (Puget Sound 94-78) 
  • The Bison sank 10 of their 11 shots at the charity stripe
  • The Green and White defense forced 10 turnovers leading to 27 points in transition on the day
The Bison are back in action on Saturday, November 22 as they travel to Cresson, Pennsylvania to take on Mount Aloysius (Pa.) College in a non-conference game at 1 p.m. in the Athletic, Convocation, and Wellness Center.
