The Bethany College women's basketball team fell to reigning Presidents' Athletic Conference champion Chatham, 84-51, Wednesday on Joe Kurey Memorial Court in Hummel Field House.
After taking a 10-point lead just 45 seconds into the second quarter, Bethany scored just two more points in the quarter. Chatham went on an 11-0 run to take control of the game. The spurt was part of a larger 30-2 run that spanned the second and third quarters.
Junior Kaedlee Potter led the way with 11 points, nine coming in the first quarter, on 5-of-9 shooting with three rebounds. Senior Alyssa Serensky came off the bench for 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting.
Senior Ashleigh Wheeler had a career-high nine rebounds to go along eight points, three assists, and one block.
Bethany (12-10 overall, 9-8 PAC) travels to Grove City 1 p.m. Saturday for another PAC game. Bethany fell to the Wolverines, 65-55, on January 11.
