HUMMEL FIELD HOUSE – Men's Volleyball hosted their second first Presidents Athletic Conference game of the week. Tonight's opponent was the Chatham Cougars, whom the Bison battled until eventually falling 3-1.
The Bison couldn't build a scoring streak until midway through the second set. Down 15-7, Bethany thundered back to a 17-16 deficit forcing Chatham to take a timeout. Alexander Hall had two blocks with both coming while Chatham was stuck at 17 points.
Baylen Loosier was red hot off the bench, slamming eight kills in the second set. He was a key component to the second set Bison comeback. Up 29-28, Loosier had the finishing blow to tie the match at one set a piece.
He was one of three Bison to be hitting .500 or better. Tyler Johnson and Alexander Hall were hitting a clean .500 while Loosier was hitting .583 at the end of the second set.
Bethany was keeping the energy up in set number three. They started off keeping the Cougars on their toes, bringing the set within one kill (11-10). However, the Bison fell behind and were unable to rally once more.
The Bison got off to a hot start in set four. They sprung out to a 5-1 lead and forced the Cougars to change their strategy.
The change worked, as Chatham retook the lead 12-9. The Bison were able to keep it within range, but could never go on one big run to seal the deal. Bethany falls in four.
Baylen Loosier had a career day, ending with 14 kills and hitting .500 in only two sets.
Logan Mills had 26 assists and six digs.
The Bison will host Hiram Tuesday at 6 p.m.
