YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - The Bethany College men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2025 season as they competed at the 15th Annual Wolfpack Invitational hosted by Westmoreland County (Pa.) Community College.
The Bison competed individually in the 5K events with Academic All-PAC junior
Mary Tracey (Clarksburg, W.Va./Liberty) finishing 13th in the women's race with a team-best time of 25:53.60, while
Daryes'e Fleming (Baltimore, Md./Joppatowne) finished 33rd and led the Green and White on the men's side with a time of 24:39.90. Potomac State (W.Va.) College won each of the team events with a total of 23 points in the women's race and 26 points in the men's race.
5K Women's Finishers
- Tracey led all Bison finishing 13th out of 34 in the women's race with a time of 25:53.60
- Academic All-PAC senior Deena Rosenthal (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) opened her senior year with a time of 29:50.70 placing her at 29th
- Freshman Yakira Cunningham (Columbus, Ohio/Centennial) recorded a time of 31:38.40 in her first race as a Bison
5K Men's Finishers
- Fleming led the men's team finishing 33rd out of 46 with a time of 24:39.90
- Junior Caliyph McClinton (Pittsburgh, Pa./Neighborhood Academy) ran 25:02.20 in his first career cross country race and finished 35th
- Freshman Jaden Eubanks (Thomson, Ga.) made his collegiate debut and finished just behind McClinton with a time of 25:20.30
- Sophomore Shavel Lesley (Whitehall, Ohio/Whitehall-Yearling) finished his first cross country race with a time of 28:06.60
The Bison are back in action on Thursday, September 4 as they co-host the West Liberty University Invitational at 5 p.m. at the Bethany College Soccer and Equestrian Complex.
