BETHANY, W.Va - The Bethany College football team celebrated Homecoming and fell to Case Western Reserve (Ohio) University by a final score of 55-0 to open Presidents' Athletic Conference play on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
The Bethany faithful showed out for the 2025 Homecoming Celebration as the Bison (0-3, 0-1 PAC) opened the conference portion of this season's schedule by welcoming Case Western Reserve (1-2-1, 1-1 PAC) to the banks of the Buffalo Creek. Fans, family, and alumni filled the tailgating lot as the Bethany community gathered to cheer on the Green and White.
Bethany Leaders
- Junior quarterback Trent Huffman (West Union, W.Va./Doddridge County) completed 18 of his 31 passes for 124 yards: a new season-high for Bison QBs. Freshman quarterback Brayden Gregory (Mathias, W.Va./East Hardy) also made his debut under center late in the game with one completion and three rushing yards
- Graduate running back TJ Owensby (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West) and sophomore running back Richard Buchannon (East Cleveland, Ohio/Euclid) each rushed for a team-high 16 yards. Owensby gained 24 and lost eight while all of Buchannon's rushes resulted in positive yardage
- Junior receiver Jkobe Jones (Seffner, Fla./Seffner Christian Academy) had a career-best eight receptions with 64 yards to lead the team and also had a 17-yard kick return. Freshman receiver Tymir Cardona (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) had a big first game in the Green and White with four catches for 27 yards
- Junior linebacker Cam Bailey (Huntington, W.Va./Spring Valley) led the Bison defense with 11 total tackles including six solos and two tackles for loss. Sophomore defensive back Blaike Adams (Parsons, W.Va./Tucker County) and junior linebacker Charlie DiSaia (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) each added six tackles
Case Western Reserve Leaders
- Junior quarterback Sam DeTillio threw for a game-high 248 yards with three touchdowns and also rushed for team-best 84 yards
- Senior receiver Dylan Cave led the Spartans with four receptions and 78 yards
- Junior defensive backTyler Fikis had a team-high nine tackles and had two pass break-ups
The Bison are back in action Saturday, October 4 as they travel to New Wilmington, Pennsylvania to take on Westminster (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at 1 p.m. on Memorial Field at Harold Burry Stadium.
