HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Bethany College men's volleyball team fell to No. 5 nationally ranked Southern Virginia University by a final score of 3-0 in the first day of the EMU Royals Tournament hosted by Eastern Mennonite (Va.) University in Yoder Arena.
Bethany (0-3) Leaders
- Freshman right-side hitter Julian Huerta (Bolingbrook, Ill.) tallied a team-high three digs and added two kills for the Bison offense
- Junior middle blocker Rylan Trapp (Belleville, Ill./Belleville Township) finished with three kills and two block assists
- Freshman setter Jason Martin (McKeesport, Pa.) posted two digs, an assist, and a kill in his collegiate debut
- Sophomore middle blocker Emilio Feliciano (El Mirage, Ariz./Dysart) led the team in kills with four while adding two digs and a block assist
- Freshman setter Zachary Kay (Little Egg Harbor, N.J./Pinelands) assisted on eight of the Bison's kills and served up one ace
- Freshman outside hitter Tyshon Francis (McKeesport, Pa.) and freshman middle blocker Cyrus Chappell (Junction City, Ore) each recorded two digs
- Sophomore Academic All-PAC setter Logan Mills (Barrie North, Ontario/Eastview Secondary School) tallied three assists
- Sophomore All-PAC outside hitter Riley Burdett (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) defended the net with a block solo and two block assists
- Sophomore setter Baylen Loosier (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Science & Tech Academy) finished with two digs, an ace, and a kill

- Freshman outside hitter Jack DeGraff had a match-high nine kills
- Junior outside hitter Isaac Carrillo finished with eight kills and three blocks
- Freshman setter Mark Tomlinson led all players with 17 assists and added four digs
