Football Travels to Grove City for Road Nightcap

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Bethany College football team fell to Grove City (Pa.) College by a final score of 40-20 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game on Robert E. Thorn Field.

Bethany (2-3, 1-2 PAC) opened a two-game road trip by traveling to Grove City (2-2, 1-0 PAC) to conclude the first half of the team's 2026 schedule. The Wolverines scored on each of their first two drives but the Bison were able to answer on their second series of the day. The Green and White then broke up 24 straight points from Grove City with a 13-point fourth quarter but the Bison's second-half push was not enough to spoil the Wolverines' homecoming. Bethany will kick off the second half of the season next week with three of their final five games coming against opponents in the bottom half of the PAC standings.

Bethany (2-3, 1-2 PAC) Leaders
  • Sophomore running back Jaquon Reynolds (Pittsburgh, Pa./Gateway) led all players with 81 yards on the ground with two touchdowns
  • Senior Academic All-PAC wide receiver Jkobe Jones (Seffner, Fla./Seffner Christian Academy) caught the Bison's only receiving touchdown of the day and had three receptions for 48 yards
  • Junior All-PAC quarterback Brett Phillips (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) completed 13 passes and amassed 103 yards passing and 33 yards rushing
  • Junior quarterback Kabron Smith (Farrell, Pa./Farrell Area) had one completion on the day in which he threw for a touchdown 
  • Junior defensive back Blaike Adams (Parsons, W.Va./Tucker County) led the team with eight solo tackles including one for a three-yard loss
  • Freshman defensive back Demetrius Kinchens (Miami, Fla./William H. Turner Tech) recorded seven tackles and two pass breakups
  • Senior Academic All-PAC linebacker Cam Bailey (Huntington, W.Va./Spring Valley) and senior linebacker Xavier Curry (Meridian, Miss.) each had seven tackles as well
  • Freshman returner Jackson Ragland (Fairburn, Ga./Westlake) returned five Grove City kickoffs for 98 yards
  • Freshman kicker Luis Fuentes (Amarillo, Texas/Palo Duro) kicked two extra points for the Green and White

  • Sophomore quarterback Mike Hollomon totaled five touchdown passes to go along with 196 yards
  • Freshman running back Nico Casciato led the Wolverine backs with 79 rushing yards
  • Senior wide receiver Darviae Gray scored two touchdowns and had five catches for 64 yards
  • Sophomore linebacker Aiden Kitts tied a game-high nine tackles on the day
First Quarter (Grove City 13-7)
  • 4:25 - Reynolds cut the Wolverine lead in half with a six-yard touchdown run (Fuentes kick good)
Fourth Quarter (Geneva 40-20)
  • 3:50 - Reynolds punched it in again from the three-yard line (Fuentes kick good)
  • 0:19 - Smith located Jones in the end zone for the final Bethany score of the day
The Bison are back in action Saturday, October 10 as they travel to Washington, Pennsylvania to take on Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at 2 p.m. at Cameron Stadium.
