NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Bethany College football freshman running back Jackson Ragland (Fairburn, Ga./Westlake) has been named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week for the second time this season.

Ragland wins his second Newcomer of the Week award and Bethany's third of the season after helping lead the Bison to a dominant 51-7 victory over Saint Francis. He welcomed the Red Wolves to the conference with 103 rushing yards on just five carries and scored his first two career touchdowns. Ragland's first came on a 32-yard scamper in the fourth quarter to answer Saint Francis's only score of the day and his second was a one-play drive where he scored from 59 yards out with just under five minutes left in regulation. He also had four punt returns for 10 yards and one kickoff return for three yards against Saint Francis.

In his first season wearing the Green and White, Ragland has appeared in all eight games where he leads the team with 35 kickoff returns for 737 yards and an average of 21.06 yards per return. He also has a team-best 109 punt return yards on 14 chances along with 129 rushing yards on 13 attempts. Ragland has scored two rushing touchdowns and is on the verge of becoming the first Bethany freshman with 1,000 all-purpose yards since 2016, as he has racked up 975 on 62 all-purpose plays. Ragland earned his previous Newcomer of the Week award on September 7.

The Bison are back in action Saturday, November 7 as they host Senior Day and a Presidents' Athletic Conference game against Saint Vincent (Pa.) College at 2 p.m. on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
