NAPLES, Fla. - The Bethany College softball team fell to Crown (Minn.) College by a final score of 9-6 and defeated Rockford (Ill.) University by a final score of 5-3 in a non-conference doubleheader at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic at North Collier Regional Park.

At the Plate
- Sophomore All-PAC catcher Olivia Kidd (Akron, Ohio/Mogadore) led the team going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI
- Junior All-PAC third baseman Emma Jackson (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington) also collected two hits including a double and drove in two runs
- Sophomore left fielder and Presidents' Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week Amber Dedmon (Canton, Ohio/Canton South) recorded one RBI along with two base hits
- Sophomore Academic All-PAC second baseman Caitlin O'Farrell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) hit an RBI double to extend the Bethany lead
In the Circle
- Sophomore right-hander Madisyn Zigarovich (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) got the start and pitched three innings where she gave up five runs on seven hits and had two strikeouts
- Junior Academic All-PAC right-hander Victoria Wehrberger (Sebastian, Fla./Sebastian River) threw four innings of relief as she allowed three earned runs on four hits and also punched out two batters

At the Plate
- Senior All-PAC shortstop Brooke Markland (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) notched two hits and an RBI against the Regents
- Freshman first baseman Jenna Nolan (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) added another sac fly on the week for one of the Bison's five RBIs
- Jackson stayed hot with two hits and two RBI while also scoring a run
- Dedmon finished 2-for-3 for the second straight game
- O'Farrell brought in another run and tallied a hit

- Senior All-PAC right-hander Katelyn Ziems (Bowling Green, Ohio) held off Rockford in the final inning of her complete game effort where struck out seven and gave up two earned runs on seven hits
The Bison are back in action Thursday, March 12 as they conclude the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Naples, Florida by taking on Drew (N.J.) University and the State University of New York-Potsdam in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 9 a.m. at North Collier Regional Park.
