GREENWOOD, Ind. - Bethany College men's basketball student-athletes graduate guard
Troy Hixson (Grove City, Ohio/Bishop Ready) and senior guard
Ryan Reasbeck (Washington, Pa./Wheeling Central Catholic) have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
In order to qualify for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a sophomore academically and athletically, must carry a 3.50 or higher grade point average and must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games.
Hixson earns his third Academic All-District honor after appearing in and starting all 25 games this season. In 2025-26, he was fourth on the team in scoring with 287 points for an average of 11.4 per game including his 1,000th career point against Franciscan on January 14.
Hixson shot 40.3% from the floor with 47 threes and was third on the team with 113 rebounds for 4.5 a game. He also added 39 assists, 16 steals, and 12 blocks and was the Bison's representative on the 2025-26 PAC Men's Basketball Sportsmanship Team.
In his career,
Hixson has appeared in 101 games and has made 85 starts for the Bison. He has scored 1,131 points for a lifetime average of 11.2 per game with 197 threes which ranks sixth on Bethany's all-time three-point field goals leaderboard.
Hixson has also recorded 338 rebounds for a 3.35 average as well as tallying 132 assists, 86 steals, and 27 blocks. Off the court, he is a two-time SAAC Scholar Athlete of the Month, a two-time Academic All-PAC honoree, and a member of the NABC Honors Court. Academically,
Hixson has earned a 4.00 grade point average as a master's of business administration candidate.
Reasbeck receives his first Academic All-District recognition after appearing in and starting all 25 games for the Bison this year where he led the team with 68 threes while shooting 45% from the floor. He was third on the team with 331 points for an average of 13.2 points per game and was second on the team with 128 rebounds for a 5.1 average.
Reasbeck was also second on the team with 41 steals and added 46 assists and three blocks.
In his Bethany career,
Reasbeck has appeared in 42 games and has made 39 starts. He has scored 580 points for a 13.8 average that includes 272 threes.
Reasbeck has also added 193 rebounds in his Bethany career to average 4.6 per game while totaling 80 assists, 69 steals, and five blocks. Off the court, he is a member of the NABC Honors Court and is a six-time Dean's List student. Academically,
Reasbeck has earned a 3.78 grade point average as a finance major.
The two student-athletes now advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, which will be announced on April 14.
The Bison finished the 2025-26 season with an overall record of 10-15 and a 6-10 record in the PAC.
