UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Bethany College softball team defeated John|Carroll (Ohio) University in a non-conference game by a final score of 1-0 at Bracken Field.

Bethany (12-3) only needed one run to get past John Carroll (7-4) in what was supposed to be the first of a twin-bill with the Blue Streaks, but worsening Northeast Ohio weather cut the doubleheader short as the Bison get in the win column once again.

Scoring Plays

• Top 1st - Sophomore All-PAC catcher Olivia Kidd (Akron, Ohio/Mogadore) put the Bison up early with an RBI double for the only scoring of the game

At the Plate

• Sophomore left fielder Amber Dedmon (Canton, Ohio/Canton South) finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and scored the lone run for the Bison
• Sophomore right-hander Trinity Edge (Franklin, Pa.) was the only other member of the Green and White to record a hit
• Kidd finished 1-for-2 on the day with one RBI

In the Circle

• Edge improved to 5-0 on the year thanks to seven shutout innings where she fanned six batters and limited the Blue Streaks to four hits

The Bison are back in action Saturday, March 28 as they travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to take on Chatham (Pa.) University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at West Field.
