Men's Lacrosse Hosts Wilmington in Darren Foxwell Memorial Game

BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College men's lacrosse team hosted the Darren Foxwell Memorial Game as they fell to Wilmington (Ohio) College by a final score of 8-2 in a non-conference game on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.

Darren Foxwell was born and raised in Easton, a small town on Maryland's Eastern Shore. He was a 2025 graduate of Easton High School, where he played men's lacrosse and served as a captain of the wrestling team. For all his success on the wrestling mat and lacrosse field, Darren was loved throughout the community for his humility, sportsmanship, and kindness. Darren was recruited by head coach Harold Pallone to attend Bethany College and play men's lacrosse. Coach Pallone remembers the genuineness and purity of their first call together. On that call, Darren was so grateful and so touched by the opportunity to be a Bison that it felt like he was ready to commit on the spot. He loved the idea of the personability, the academic support, and the vision he and Coach Pallone shared. Darren visited Bethany last March, loved the campus from the very start, and committed to Bethany soon thereafter. He was excited to play for Coach Pallone, and was looking forward to enjoying life in the West Virginia mountains with new friends and teammates. His mom, dad and sister were happy that Darren had "found his place."

On June 18, Darren Foxwell, at 18 years young, died of injuries sustained in a single-car accident the previous day. While Darren never had the chance to step onto the field for the Bison, his family is eternally grateful to Bethany College for believing in him and giving him the opportunity to excel as a student-athlete. They, and their beloved Darren, will be members of the Bison family forever.

Joining the Bethany College men's lacrosse team for the Darren Foxwell Memorial Game were Darren's mother, Kerry Daly; his father, Len Foxwell; and his sister, Colleen Foxwell.

Bethany (0-4) sought to get in the win column for the first time this season in memory of their late Bison teammate while Wilmington (1-3) was also in search of their first victory of 2026. The Quakers had a big first quarter, but the Green and White held close into the third quarter when the game was called due to inclement weather.
