Baseball Falls to Albion in Non-Conference Matchup

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Bethany College baseball team fell to Albion (Mich.) College by a final score of 13-1 in a non-conference game at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational at Lake Myrtle Park. 

Scoring Plays
  • Bottom 5th - Senior catcher Payton Davis (Canton, Ohio/Malvern) put the ball in play to bring in the Bison's only run of the day
At the Plate
  • Senior left fielder Devin Toothman (East Liverpool, Ohio) and senior shortstop Chad Behrendt (Monongahela, Pa./Ringgold) each notched a hit in two at-bats
  • Senior All-PAC right fielder Sonny Peluchette (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Central Catholic) and senior All-PAC second baseman Jaden Nestor-Fox (Vermilion, Ohio) supplied the Bison with their final two hits
  • Davis drove in one RBI
On the Mound
  • Freshman left-hander Noah Stonerock (Circleville, Ohio/Westfall) gave up no earned runs through six innings with four strikeouts, but was credited with the loss
  • Freshman right-hander Billy Sloan (North Jackson, Ohio/Jackson-Milton) pitched 2.1 innings where he struck out three and allowed two earned runs on six hits and two walks
  • Freshman right-hander Kyle Krason (Cabot, Pa./Highlands) made his Green and White debut in the ninth as junior left-hander Tristan Simrau (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City West) closed out the inning
The Bison are back in action Wednesday, March 11 as they continue the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational in Auburndale, Florida against Moravian (Pa.) University in a non-conference game at 10:45 a.m. at Lake Myrtle Park.
