Men's Lacrosse Travels to Franciscan in Ohio River Rivalry

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - The Bethany College men's lacrosse team fell to the Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio) by a final score of 25-4 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at Trinity Health System Field.

Bethany (1-12, 0-6 PAC) Leaders
  • Freshman face-off specialist Darwin Ruiz (Hyattsville, Md./Northwestern) won 21 of his 30 face-offs and scooped up a career-high 11 ground balls
  • Sophomore Academic All-PAC midfielder Chance Funari (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) scored one goal and one assist along with five ground balls
  • Freshman defender Levi Connally (Prince George's County, Md./Frederick Douglass) also scored for the Bison and added eight ground balls and two CTOs
  • Freshman attack Braden Jones (Essex, Md./Kenwood) finished with a statline of one goal, one assist, three ground balls, and one caused turnover
  • Senior attack Justice Smith (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) has now scored in eight of his 12 games on the year
  • Junior defender Kellen Rakoci (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) and sophomore midfielder Logan Mills (Barrie North, Ontario/Eastview Secondary School) each forced one turnover and tallied five ground balls
  • Sophomore midfielder Corrie Miller (Etters, Pa./Red Lands) tied a team-high two caused turnovers with one ground ball
  • Junior midfielder Griffen Carpenter (Stow, Ohio) made one assist and recorded three ground balls
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Owen Livengood (York, Pa./York Suburban) made nine saves against the Barons
Franciscan (6-7, 3-3 PAC) Leaders
  • Senior attack Ayden Burke scored a game-high seven points with five goals and two assists
  • Senior midfielder Thomas LeBlanc posted nine ground balls and seven caused turnovers
  • Freshman goalkeeper John Kirk saved five of the Bison's 18 shots
The Bison are back in action on Wednesday, April 15 as they host a Presidents' Athletic Conference game against Grove City (Pa.) College at 7 p.m. on Don Ault Field at Bison Stadium.
