Softball Scales Allegheny in Doubleheader Sweep

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Bethany College softball team swept Allegheny (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader by final scores of 9-4 and 5-1 at Robertson Softball Field.

Game 1
At the Plate
  • Sophomore left fielder Amber Dedmon (Canton, Ohio/Canton South) tied a team-best 3-for-5 and drove in an RBI on an infield single
  • Sophomore All-PAC catcher Olivia Kidd (Akron, Ohio/Mogadore) also collected three hits including a double and scored a team-high two runs
  • Senior All-PAC shortstop Brooke Markland (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward) and sophomore Academic All-PAC second baseman Caitlin O'Farrell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Chartiers Valley) each went 2-for-4 with an RBI double
  • Senior All-PAC third baseman Emma Jackson (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington) also recorded two hits and an RBI double
  • Freshman first baseman Jenna Nolan (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) posted another multi-hit game
  • Senior Academic All-PAC right fielder Trista Morris (Woodsfield, Ohio/Monroe Central) drove in one RBI and laid down a sac bunt

  • Sophomore right-hander Trinity Edge (Franklin, Pa.) added another complete game to her 2026 campaign where she allowed four runs on eight hits and three walks but struck out eight Gators across seven innings

At the Plate
  • Senior All-PAC designated player Katelyn Ziems (Bowling Green, Ohio) hit the go-ahead double in the eighth to finish with one hit and one RBI
  • Jackson went 3-for-5 with three of the Bison's five RBI
  • Morris went 2-for-3 and scored one run
  • Dedmon tallied two hits and one RBI
  • O'Farrell and Nolan each added another two hits
In the Circle
  • Junior Academic All-PAC right-hander Victoria Wehrberger (Sebastian, Fla./Sebastian River) tied her longest outing wearing the Green and White after going eight innings and limiting Allegheny to one run on eight hits while notching four strikeouts
The Bison are back in action Saturday, April 18 as they host Senior Day and a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader against Saint Vincent (Pa.) College beginning at 12 p.m. at Bison Field.
