BETHANY, W.Va. - The Bethany College softball team took on Geneva (Pa.) College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader where they won the first game by a final score of 4-2 and lost the second by a final score of 6-3 at Bison Field.
Bethany (26-9, 14-6 PAC) secured a spot in the PAC Tournament for the third straight year and for the fourth time in the last five seasons but first they had to get past Geneva (29-7, 16-4 PAC) who is also fighting for a top seed in the tournament. After falling to an early deficit, the Bison scored three in the fourth frame to move up to one game back from the Golden Tornadoes in the conference standings. However, the Geneva offense combined with dominant pitching evened up the series as the GTs took the nightcap to close out Bethany's home schedule.
